Hello Doctor, I want to ask a question, my boyfriend has problems with erection, it is not sufficient for having intercourse. He has been to the urologist and has done the tests, the results were good, but a urologist in Pristina told us that we should see an endocrinologist. Please respond... thank you for understanding

Sent by tina, më 11 March 2014 në 15:19

The case needs to be assessed closely, with a clinical visit and perhaps some blood tests, to exclude or confirm an endocrine cause. If you have the possibility to come to Tirana for a consultation, contact me by phone one day in advance for the clinic where we can meet. My cell: 0672872167

Hello doctor. For about 15 years, I have had an irregular menstrual cycle. I have taken many contraceptives and have had endless checks for the relevant hormones. The problem has turned out to be with prolactin; it is a bit high, while the thyroid hormone is at normal levels. I have been trying to get pregnant for a year but have not been able to. Do you think it is necessary to do an MRI of the pituitary gland to see if the problem is there or if it's a proper chemical process of the hormones? Please, if necessary, I could also meet you. All the best!

Sent by Ariel, më 25 Agust 2014 në 18:58

I think that we should also evaluate other indicators, besides prolactin and thyroid function, to conclude on menstrual disorders and the possibility of a pregnancy. To carry out the consultation, please contact me at: 067 28 72 167.

Hello doctor..my father has just been diagnosed with a nodule in the thyroid gland, which is causing him to have breathing blockage from one side of the throat, and he cannot breathe normally, and it also causes him severe throat pain as well as headaches. Is this a bad thing or something that can be treated??? What can help him to relieve the pain??? I need help and possibly an appointment for a visit and a solution to this problem..Thank you

Sent by Eralda, më 23 October 2014 në 15:52

Thyroid gland nodules are very common in our country, due to the continuous lack of iodine in the population. Generally, they are small and not problematic, since they do not disrupt the function of the gland. However, considering the symptoms you are referring to regarding your father, I think it is necessary to evaluate with a clinical visit, ultrasound, scintigraphy, and if needed, also with the assessment of the nodule cells (to exclude the presence of thyroid cancer). Contact me to set up an appointment on my cell: 067 28 72 167

Hello doctor. Please could you tell me the name of the clinic where you work and the address, I would like to have a consultation and some tests because I have had thyroid surgery once and am having problems again. Thank you.

Hello Dr., I am a 20-year-old girl and I have always been somewhat hairy. Around the age of 17, I had irregularities in my cycle, during which I also experienced an increase in hair on parts of my body and face. I thought maybe it was the cycle irregularity causing it. I did all the hormone tests, but they were normal. I took contraceptives as medication, diane35 and yaz. They had an effect during use, but the problem continued again when the 3-month medication was stopped. Now the cycle has regulated on its own. But the hair continues to increase. During the use of contraceptives, I noticed a reduction in hair, they became thinner and grew more slowly. I do not want to take contraceptives again. As my body found it difficult to recover after their discontinuation. Please advise me on a medication

Sent by Albana, më 02 March 2018 në 16:30

There are also other treatment alternatives for Hirsutism (besides oral contraceptives), especially for your age. I cannot prescribe therapy from a distance because I need to evaluate you closely, along with the hormonal analyses you have previously done. If you are interested in a consultation, please contact me to schedule a possible appointment

Please, I am worried, I have had a scintigraphy and it showed a hyperfunctional nodule. The doctor prescribed me Letrox 50mg. I have headaches and irregular blood pressure. Do I have the right therapy?

Sent by linda, më 03 March 2018 në 01:25

If the nodule in the scintigraphy is indeed hyperfunctioning (not hypofunctioning), you are currently using the wrong medication. Stop the Letrox therapy immediately and contact me for a consultation. We need the scintigraphy result and any other tests you have done related to the thyroid, so we can determine the proper therapy moving forward

Hello! I am 62 years old and have been treated for thyroid issues since I was young. At the age of 30, I was treated for hyperthyroidism (very high pulse). Since then, my pulse has been normal, but at the age of 46, I had an echo & TSH test and it was below normal. The doctor prescribed me Letrox which I took for almost 2 years, then I went 3-4 years without medication and when I had another echo, I had an enlarged goiter and TSH was still below normal. Starting to follow up seriously and regularly with echo and tests, I began to develop nodules, sometimes one, other times more, until countless, and still, the doctor never gave me any medication or decided on surgery, until about a year and a half ago I did anti-TPO & TG antibodies and they came back high, while the echo showed no nodules. Now again, I am without medication due to the low TSH (although it has started to increase slightly with the increase of antibodies) but I am scared of other problems that might follow from Hashimoto's, which vary from Raynaud's phenomenon, jaundice, and skin vigilance with possible analyses, but anyhow, I am scared of the progression of the disease, please give me some hope or solution even in your clinic if possible, thank you

Sent by drita mesi, më 11 April 2018 në 11:10

Hello Drita! First of all, it needs to be confirmed whether it is indeed Hashimoto's Thyroiditis or an autoimmune problem with overproduction of the thyroid (Graves), given the fact that your TSH consistently tests below normal, even without medication. For a more accurate opinion, you can contact me for a consultation. Cell: 0692930384

Hello Dr. Yllka! I am a first-year physiotherapy student. A few days ago, while browsing the internet, I saw a photo of a girl who was shown with Cushing's syndrome. The effects of this syndrome were a raised, I don't know if we can say a kyphosis in the cervico-thoracic area, moon face, rounded face or as it was also called there, moon face, weight gain in the abdominal area, stretch marks, and darkened skin. I possess all these effects as well. I was worried about this fact and decided to do an analysis to see the level of cortisol in the body which turned out to be 473.6 nmol/L from the norm (171-536nmol/L at 08:00. It has been almost four years since I have been gaining weight uncontrollably and I would very much appreciate your consultation!

Sent by Emi Baku, më 11 July 2018 në 12:04

Hello! Unexplained weight gain has several causes, one of which is Cushing's Syndrome. However, even the latter cannot be ruled out by a single cortisol measurement. For more detailed clarification, you can contact 069 29 30 384 to schedule an appointment for a consultation

I have a problem with my left arm and neck, they hurt a lot and my chest hurts too. I am 34 years old. I have done 4 echocardiograms for my chest and the results were good, but now I don't know where to turn or what kind of examination to get. Thank you

Sent by Alba , më 17 July 2018 në 17:36

Hello! Firstly, you need to get a cervical (neck) X-ray in two projections, which you should consult with a Rheumatologist. Generally, the problems you are referring to belong to this field. However, if this turns out to be normal, contact me at 069 29 30 384 for a closer consultation

Hello, I am 26 years old and the ultrasound showed that I have enlarged nodules in the thyroid, measured in centimeters, and they told me that I need to do an FNA analysis. What do you advise me? Thank you

Sent by Vito, më 14 Agust 2018 në 08:18

It depends on the structure of the particles, and their size. However, if the doctor following your case has recommended this procedure, it would be good for you to do it. It is not painful, and there is no risk to you. It is sufficient for it to be performed by professionals with experience in this area

Hello Dr. Yllka, my sister suffers from Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and, even though she is being treated with medications, the symptoms she has had from the beginning are not going away. Please could you tell me how she can keep it stable? Because it seems like she is getting worse, both from a nervous standpoint, and also from other symptoms in the body, like confusion, excessive fatigue, severe headaches, and sometimes even blurred vision (I don't know if all these are symptoms of the thyroid). Thank you!

Sent by Shqipe, më 24 Agust 2018 në 13:37

Hello! The symptoms you mention continue to bother the patient if the thyroid function is not completely stabilized with the medications they are taking. For this, a consultation with the Endocrinologist is needed after evaluating TSH and antibodies

Hello. I am 22 years old. My dermatologist has advised me to get these tests done after having a problem with acne on my skin (which sometimes appears and sometimes disappears on my back) The tests are: TSH, Thyroid gland ECHO, 17OH progesterone, FSH, Prolactin, and Free testosterone. The thyroid gland came out fine. Prolactin was done in three phases every 20 minutes first 750.3, second 492 and third 352. Considering that I was in the luteal phase when the tests were done, these are the other results: FSH 3.51, LH 12.5, TSH 2.52, and 17 OH progesterone 1.40.
After these, the endocrinologist has advised me to continue for three months with Diane 35 tablets. And another endocrinologist has advised me to continue with Dostinex 50mg 1/2 once a week for three months. I do not find it reasonable to use Diane 35 tablets since I have gathered information that these tablets do not deal with regulating prolactin, but only with regulating hormones which according to the test results I do not seem to have disturbed. Please, I await your response because I am worried about the issue of high prolactin as I have read many things on the internet that hyperprolactinemia causes serious problems in the future. Thank you very much

Sent by Vesa, më 31 Agust 2018 në 07:35

Hello! High prolactin levels should be treated as a possible cause needs to be sought. The first thing that needs to be ruled out (or confirmed) is a problem in a gland located in the brain (pituitary), which leads to an increase in the level of prolactin in the blood. I think you should have an MRI of the head, focused on the hypothalamic-pituitary region, to conclude on the possibility of a Prolactinoma. For more information, you can contact me at 0692930384

Hello! My father has developed a lump in the thyroid area; it's neither soft nor hard. Initially, it grew a bit, but now it has started to shrink. The only concern he has is sweating behind the neck. I wanted to know if this is something to worry about?!

Sent by Ina , më 23 September 2018 në 04:57

Hello! The fact that it has reduced on its own is a good sign. However, to not neglect it, it would be good to assess it with an ultrasound and maybe even with hormonal analysis, since there is a sweating problem. For more info, you can contact me at 0692930384

Hello doctor. I suffer from Hashimoto's thyroiditis and continue to take medication. The last time I did the tests, I had an anti-TPO of 366. Whereas this time it was at the values of 880 while the other hormones were within the normal range. The medication I take is 200 mg of selenium and 50 mg of levothyroxine, but I have a continuous hair loss. What do you think?

Hello Dr. Yllka, I have been experiencing increased appetite for about three years and have gained around 25 kilos during this time. The problem also includes swelling of the hands and feet joints and pain in the leg when walking or getting up from bed, constant fatigue, and low concentration during learning. Do you think the thyroid hormone could be affecting this issue? What do you advise me to do? Thank you

Hello doctor, I am 20 years old and it has been almost a year since I started getting hair on my chin and neck area. Also, the hair on my body has increased so much that it has started growing in parts of the body where I never had it before. I also have problems with acne on my face and body. My menstrual cycle is regular, only occasionally it gets delayed by 4 or 5 days. I am very concerned about the hair growth because as soon as I remove it, it grows back immediately the next day

Hello doctor, how have you been?
I wanted to ask you a question if you could answer me. I am a 27-year-old male, I have been treated for several months for autoimmune hypothyroidism, since March of this year when I found out that I was suffering from it. Initially, my TSH was 8.2 and anti TPO 350, I initially had fatigue, anxiety, and body tremors, and a lot of lack of concentration and focus, my head was foggy all the time, and a bit of memory problems. I initially took euthyrox 50 mg 1 pill, and meanwhile, I took 1 pill of serenamente recommended by a general practitioner for calming before being diagnosed with thyroid problems. After 1 month, I did the next control, TSH 1.7, and anti TPO 349, I continued euthyrox 50 mg 1 pill, and 1 vagostabyl at night to help me a little with the anxiety, instead of serenamente. After 3 months, the next control, TSH 0.13 and anti TPO 304, I continued euthyrox 1 pill 50 mg and vagostabyl 1 pill at night (there have been cases where I took 2-3 vagostabyl per day when I didn't feel well), but this time they also added tirolux 1 pill per day. After 1 month, the next control (about 3 weeks ago), TSH 5.97 and anti TPO 324, and during this time I had stronger symptoms again, sometimes anxiety to the point of panic, with strong and fast heartbeats and head more foggy than usual almost losing consciousness (to the extent that it seemed like I was going to die, such and so strong was the feeling) and it could be several days in a row where it just seemed like I was surviving day by day, I didn't have it for long, and almost nothing tasted good, or instances when I almost lost consciousness and felt like I was about to faint. The dose was left almost the same, 1 pill euthyrox 50 mg, 1 vagostabyl at night, only tirolux was increased from 1 pill a day, to 2 pills a day. Since I had strong symptoms, especially one night that I was caught by anxiety/panic and it lasted quite a while, I did a consultation with a neurologist (about 10 days ago),

Sent by Lemi, më 13 October 2019 në 09:59

Hello!
I think that your situation has worsened from Tirolux, which you started using later. Since it contains iodine, this product strains the thyroid with Hashimoto's (because you have been diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis) and worsens the symptoms. I advise you to stop it! For any further clarification or consultation, you can contact me at 0692930384
